Join us for our Open House NYC on Friday, November 17 in New York City from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour a pet-inclusive domestic violence shelter, hear about their policies and procedures, and listen to survivors’ stories, all with the goal of building a regional network of providers that can support each other through the various phases of co-sheltering.
The open house is free to attend and our RSVP deadline is November 8th. Please note that we will be limiting RSVPs to 20 people (and 2 people per organization) due to the intimate nature of the event. For the protection of the residents, the precise location will be given to confirmed RSVPs at a later date. Our open houses are made possible by the generous support of Maddie’s Fund, #ThanksToMaddie and the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence.
If you cannot attend the open house, we invite you to join our virtual Co-Sheltering Collaborative community for online learning opportunities. Please email Collaborative@mydogismyhome.org for additional information. We also encourage you to learn more about the URI PALS Program and the intersection of domestic violence and pets via this report.
